The magic of the Liébana Valley.
From the Cillorigo Valley, this star route allows you to discover a different and magical corner of the region every day, returning to rest comfortably in the most select accommodations in the valley.
We will cross lush beech and oak forests, shepherd's meadows, and millenary trails with incredible panoramic views towards the massifs of the Picos de Europa.
Summary Itinerary
Day 1:
Welcome, equipment and horse allocation. We will leave Aravalle to explore the Cillorigo de Liébana valley, passing through Viñón, Armaño and Colio, a village that preserves an 18th-century gateway.
Day 2:
On Mount Casillas, we will find the 'Narezona', one of the oldest chestnut trees in Cantabria with a 14m perimeter. Crossing the timber pine forest we will ascend to the San Tirso meadow, with its 17th-century hermitage and beautiful panoramic views of the Eastern massif of the Picos de Europa.
Day 3:
Leaving behind the Colio cabin and the cattle crush, we will arrive through oak groves at an altitude of about 800 meters to enjoy spectacular views of the Puertos de Ullances and the eastern massif.
Day 4:
Starting in the village of San Pedro, we will cross the Bedoya Valley through beech and oak forests along paths full of stories of shepherds and pilgrims against the backdrop of the Picos de Europa.
Day 5:
Arrival at the Monastery of Santo Toribio to cross the Door of Forgiveness and achieve our jubilee.
Day 6:
Breakfast and end of our equestrian services at the inn.
